As Monty was free this weekend so we booked him in to the Powderham Car Show 2019.
It’s always a brilliant weekend and the weather was kind again this year. Monty always stands out in a crowd with his stripy elevating roof therefore is easy to find across a busy event.
The event is organised by The Crash Box Classic Car Club of which we are members and is held in the grounds of Powderham Castle, Kenton near Exeter. There was the usual myriad of fascinating vehicles: motorbikes, cars, vans, lorries, fire engines, tractors, steam engines from all ages.
If you get hungry there is always lots of food and drink stalls. For the people that tinker at home with cars there’s auto jumble, trade stands and lots of shopping really something for everyone.
We found a stunning blue VW van which had been owned by the same gentleman since new!
The great thing was when we want to stop for a moment and take it all in, we had Monty with his comfy seats and gas stove! As a result many cups of tea where made probably even better from his fabulous fridge and ice box we were able to keep the kids happy with ice creams too.
Freebird Bear even came along for the ride he all ways appeals to the younger visitors.
Crash Box Car Club
Established in 1964, the Crash Box and Classic Car Club is a multi-make classic car club with a wide variety of vehicles in the ownership of members. The club is very busy with numerous social events to encourage the 500 or more members to make as much use of their cars as possible. They also welcome members who don’t necessarily own their own cars – just to share their interests. They organised the Powderham Car show 2019 and will be already planning for next year.
