Due to popular demand we have now fitted the spare wheel on the front of Monty hence the Monty is cycletastic! title therefore this means a bike rack can be fitted to his tailgate. We offer bike racks for hire as optional extra’s (2 bikes). So why not hire a classic VW Camper and bring your bikes to explore the West Country we have some amazing off road cycle routes from The Tarka Trail and the Granite Way in North Devon to the scenic Camel Trail in Cornwall.

One of Freebird Campers favourite routes is The Camel Trail, a 18 mile largely traffic free, surfaced and virtually level multi use cycle trail in the beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. When you reach Padstow a Cornish pasty is an absolute must!

The trail is suitable for walkers, cyclists, horse-riders and wheel-chair users and falls into three main sections:

  • Padstow to Wadebridge – 5.5 Miles (8.8Km)
  • Wadebridge to Bodmin (Boscarne) – 5.75 Miles (9.25Km)
  • Bodmin to Wenfordbridge – 6.25 Miles (10.1 Km)

Of course if all this activity is not for you or you have small children who just like to potter around the campsite you can bring their bikes – both our children learnt to ride their bikes whilst on holiday! They have the freedom to explore the campsite in safety and you can kick back and relax certainly keeping everyone happy.
