Donkey Sanctuary

Why not put The Donkey Sanctuary on your holiday hit list. Based near Sidmouth, Devon is open 365 days a year. It’s free admission and parking, a big bonus is, its dog-friendly.  The centre is only 7 miles from our base is Colyford. If you don’t feel like driving too far on your first day there are good campsites is the same area. Kingsdown Tail  is a fabulous Campsite the park is set in five acres of level ground and sheltered by mature trees. It is immediately adjacent to the A3052 three miles east of Sidmouth offering easy access.

Set along the historic Jurassic Coast in the East Devon countryside. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The working farm is home to hundreds of donkeys who have been rescued from mistreatment or relinquished into the charity’s care.

You can enjoy the great outdoors with lots of beautiful walks around the centre. If you have children they can burn off some steam in the farm-themed play area and get lost in the maze!. During the holidays they have lots of activities for the children to get involved with.

If you feel like more exercise you can pick up the South West Coast Path on the Jurassic Coast.

They also boast a stunning new restaurant which has glorious views across the fields. Coffee, cake, cream tea’s and full meals are all available.
