Our VW Campervans do get around but there are some definite favorite’s and Beer Head Campsite is one of them. There are so many great ones to chose from so with from feedback for customers over the past couple of years we though we would share them. Keep checking our news items as we will keep adding them.

Just in the next coastal village along from Freebird Campers is Beer Head Campsite. It has 8 pitches for campervans all with electric hook up and has the most incredible views. Boasting a fab onsite bistro and takeaway, well stocked shop, convenient laundry and highly rated facilities. They also have an amazing selection of static caravans you can hire – why not make it a two part holiday? We are finding more and more visitors are combining a VW camper experience with another stay.

You can take advantage of their ebike hire facility to travel so much further & explore the area. Electric bikes provide all the benefits of a normal bike – gentle exercise, fresh open air, interaction with nature and the enjoyment whilst on holiday. They have the added bonus of making light work of longer rides, & gentle inclines. They are suitable for on or off road cycling.

You can also take advantage of our wonderful coastal path along the Jurassic coast & admire the wonderful sea views with your 4 legged friends. The campsite takes pets at no extra charge on the pitches.

It is an easy walk down into the pretty fishing village Beer and you’ll get some good exercise on the way back up for sure!

Things to do in and around Beer include:

  • Wonderful food and drink (have a beer in Beer!!) in one of the many eateries.
  • Visit Pecorama with the beautiful gardens, woodland walk and narrow gauge railway.
  • Beer quarry caves – book an hour long tour through the vast man-made complex of underground caverns with their mighty halls of vaulted roofs and pillars of Beer Stone. Vast and utterly fascinating. Hints back to smuggling in long gone days and secret tunnels. A personal favorite of Freebirds!
  • Just chill on the pretty sheltered beach with matted walkways making access across the pebbles easy and several cafe’s right on the beach.
  • Buy some fresh fish to take back for your barbeque.
  • Walking walking walking – we have miles and miles of incredible coast paths which you can pick up from Beer Head. (see picture above)
  • Beer Regatta Beer Regatta 2022 Saturday 13th – Friday 19th August. Lots of activities and things to see for all ages. Including angling, rowing, canoeing, Lugger and dinghy racing in the bay. The Football Club has held children’s races and entertainment, pavement art competitions, fossil fun, scavenger hunts and pebble painting.
