East Devon’s beaches have been named as some of the UK’s TOP SPOTS.

If you want to get a quick head start to your holiday with one of our campervans then you can’t go far wrong with a short hop down the road to one of our local beaches. Three of our closest beaches have just been given the Blue Flag Award – Seaton, Beer village, and Sidmouth have all received the prestigious award.

The Blue flag is an international award and considered the ‘gold standard’ for beaches and is awarded to beaches that improve the quality of the coastline, for the quality of their bathing water as being safe and having plenty of facilities for beach goers.

Seaton beach is a mile long stretch of beautiful pebble beach close to the river Axe and a stone’s throw from the stunning Seaton Wetlands. The beach is part of a World Heritage Site, and the surrounding countryside has numerous local wildlife designations! The rockpools you can find to the western end of the beach offer excellent rock pooling and are a hive for marine life.

A few miles further along the coast, and tucked away in the glorious Devon countryside, you’ll find the beautiful village of Beer.  A beautiful place to visit, it continually wins awards for its beauty, including a “Gold in the Southwest in Bloom”. The Southwest Coastal Path runs through Beer and along its cliff tops and you can enjoy a lovely walk to Branscombe where you’ll find Branscombe Old Bakery, Mill and Old Forge, and back with amazing views. Beer beach itself is a stunningly beautiful beach. From the cove you can watch the local fishing boats off for their morning catch and get a sense of living history.
