Our Dream Campervan Holiday Begins

Some holidays begin with a flight, others with a train—but ours began with hiring Monty.

Monty isn’t just any campervan. He’s a late T2 Bay four-berth classic VW Campervan. From the moment we saw his gleaming green and white coachwork, we knew we were in for something special. With his Porsche colour-coded seats and his stunning Devon Moonraker interior, Monty has all the charm of vintage travel with the comfort of modern touches.

Sliding open the side door felt like stepping into a storybook adventure. The full-width ‘rock and roll’ bed was cosy and inviting, and the Devon Moonraker roof—with its ingenious push-back top bed—gave us headroom galore and a snug hideaway for starry nights. Whether we were brewing morning coffee or just snuggling up after a coastal walk, Monty made every moment feel magical.

Driving through the rolling hills and valleys of the West Country with the windows down, Monty purring along contentedly, was pure joy. Every village we passed, every beach we stopped at—Monty turned heads and sparked smiles. People waved, and more than one fellow traveller came over to say, “What a beauty!”

Hiring Monty wasn’t just about transport. It was about nostalgia, and discovering the joy of slow travel. He made our short break in Devon and Cornwall feel like a grand adventure. There were so many amazing campsites to choose from what ever your needs. Most campsites have fabulous pitches for campervans – on the level and with electric hook up but it still doesn’t detract from the escape and explore and feeling the freedom.
