Visiting Honiton Show 2022
We visited Honiton Show with our stunning T2 VW Campervan Campo this year. We were part of the Crash Box Car Club stand of which we are members. Hundreds of visitors admired his beautiful paintwork and immaculate interior. It was the perfect opportunity for people to peek inside and see the beautiful upholstery and Kompact kitchen unit. We love to be able show off the high specification of our vans.
Honiton Show is a perfect event for us. It is located in the heart of our operating area of Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall. Most of our hirers will head off to explore the depths Cornwall and Devon. Experiencing the fun of hiring a classic VW campervan.
About the show:
The Honiton & District Agricultural Association – “Where Farming Comes First”. The show is annually held on the first Thursday in August. It has grown to be one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country, attracting over 20,000 visitors.
The show is held in the heart of the East Devon Countryside on a 140-acre site. Which was purchased by the Honiton & District Agricultural Association in 2003. It is a showcase for the best of local farming, produce, crafts and rural skills. The Association has a membership of over 500. It makes donations yearly to a wide range of local, agricultural and educational causes.
The aim of the Association is to promote agriculture and related industries, by the staging of its annual show.
The show hosted the West of England Hound Show, the second largest in the Country, attracting packs from all over the British Isles. It has over 1,000 livestock entries and in excess of 400 trade exhibitors. Making it one of the largest business and social events in East Devon.
What was on:
2022 saw a fabulous array of entertainment including The Bolddog Lings FMX Stunt Team – Honda’s official and the UK’s number one motorcycle display team. Viperaerobatics will have everyone looking whilst they perform a phenomenal flying display in a beautiful and iconic Pitts 2SB Biplane. The hugely entertaining and extremely fast Shetland Performance Pony Display Team. The Bob Hogg Sheepdog Display gave an opportunity to experience the world of the shepherd and his dog.
The Devon & Somerset Pony Club for the first time ran a demonstration competition between local Pony Club branches of children racing their ponies through bending poles, leaping off their ponies and vaulting back on. There was children’s entertainment in abundance including characters Sheridan the Sheepdog and Pumpkin the Pony, and the fabulous Twistopher Punch & Judy Show.
You can also watch hurdle making, thatching, Cob Block and Hedge laying demonstrations. Take a trip down memory lane with over 100 Vintage Tractors and over 50 stunning Classic Cars. Being dog friendly the show had the wonderful fun dog show with classes for Pedigree or pet pooches.
At the heart of the show were all the wonderful livestock and horses including the majestic heavy horses and a huge variety of differing sheep breeds and Dairy & Beef Cattle.
With a vast array of shopping on offer, fabulous food and drink to tickle everyone’s tastebuds there is always something to appeal to every member of the family come and experience East Devon’s Premier Day out!
